Birds

What are the Birds up to this offseason. They've released Kris Benson, and RP Kirt Birkins. They signed John "T-bone" Shelby to be the first base coach. Huge offseason so far.

They need to upgrade 3b, 1b, lf, DH. And something has to be done with M.Tejada. He's the one position player (outside of N.Markakis) that might have some trade value. They really need to move him.

Also, Ray is out all next year. So the backend of the bullpen needs a tune-up.

I will go insane if they sign some ~34+ year old on the downswing in their career. (Read: Randy Winn, Kenny Lofton, Luis Gonzalez, etc. Also, if they sign someone like Jose Mesa to compete for the closer role, I will drive to Baltimore and strangle Mike Flannigan and any other Front Office personnel I can get to before security jumps in.) . Also, don't trade E.Bedard unless in helps the team get better, not worse. (Note: Given that they don't seem to know the difference between better and worse, its probably safer to just not trade him.)

I believe Flannagan is already gone? no? I thought he was out.

Also, the thing that sucks about Tejada is that I believe his value is WAY down. Hes not the 30 HR 120 rbi guy... hes more like a 18 hr 80 rbi .315 guy... lower trade value and is older now... hes their only bargaining chip and they should trade him and get younger, maybe get a few young prospect picthers. I read on ESPN that the Orioles farm system is ranked 20th in the MLB... thats BRUTAL
